About the event

We are thrilled to invite you to the Java Speaks Virtual Open Mic, a vibrant gathering of poets, writers, and spoken word enthusiasts from all walks of life. Every Sunday night, we come together on Zoom to celebrate the power of words and create a safe space for artistic expression. Writing workshop with Daryl Funn at 7:30pmOpen mic hosted by Theresa Davis at 8pm.

At Java Speaks, we believe in fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where all voices can be heard and appreciated. We kindly request that you adhere to our guidelines to ensure everyone feels respected and comfortable. There is no tolerance for hate speech, homophobia, or transphobia. We encourage participants to share their unique stories, insights, and perspectives while promoting understanding and empathy.

The evening will kick off with a writing workshop facilitated by the talented Daryl Funn at 7:30pm.While attending the Java Speaks Virtual Open Mic is completely free of charge, we greatly appreciate any donations you may wish to contribute. These donations help sustain our community and support the costs associated with organizing these events. Your generosity allows us to continue providing a nurturing platform for poets and writers to thrive.
