XChange Open Mic night is a platform for local talent to share their work and connect with an audience. We welcome all forms of expression, whether you're a singer, rapper, storyteller, or anything in between.
Our feature this month is Sagi Shadur.
Sagi Shadur is a published poet who has been making waves in the literary world since 2018. Their captivating verses have found their way onto numerous platforms, including radio programs, literary magazines, anthologies, and esteemed Israeli newspapers such as "Haaretz," "Maariv," and "Makor Rishon." Renowned for their dynamic performances, Sagi, has graced the stage at various poetry events, leaving an indelible impact on audiences. Notably, they have participated in prominent gatherings like "Israel's Poetry Slam," "Norman's Poetry," "Du-et," and many others.
In 2019,he co-founded "Shirat HaKrach," an organization dedicated to fostering the engagement of young people with poetry in Israel. Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 lockdowns, they successfully organized poetry-reading events and played a crucial role in editing the organization's online magazine. Throughout their career, Sagi has honed their editorial skills, meticulously refining hundreds of poems by diverse Israeli poets.
Their talent and contributions have not gone unnoticed, as he was invited to join the prestigious poetry group "Bet Sofit" by the "Hebrew Writers Association in Israel" in 2022, further cementing their reputation in the literary community. Additionally, they have been an active member of the esteemed "Shira – Poets Association In Israel" since 2023, engaging with fellow poets and fostering a vibrant poetic community.
With a passion for poetic expression and a commitment to sharing their art, he continues to inspire and captivate audiences with their evocative words, leaving an enduring mark on the world of poetry in Israel and beyond.
Sign-ups will begin at 7:30pm, and the open mic will start at 8pm. Each act will have 5-7 minutes to perform.
